Art has been a big part of Billie Bas’sette’s life for a long time. She received an A.A. degree from Miami- Dade College, studied sculpture with Roland Hockett at Gulf Coast Community College, and received a B.A. from the University of West Florida in Fine Art. She broadened her artistic scope with a degree in Commercial Art from Tom Haney Technical Institute. She studied clay with Paul Soldner, and has taken seminars with many accomplished artists. In between, she got her 1000 ton offshore Master’s license in the Merchant Marine, ran airbrush businesses on the beach and raised two children.
