All her life Zan has been unable to decide what she likes best: science or art. She loved to paint and sculpt as a young person, and was fascinated by the space program. She went on to get an A.A. in Art from City College of San Francisco where she made up her Algebra deficiency. With that under her belt she decided to go technical and got a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. Zan loves to combine art and science, especially in punny ways. She has created a Periodic Table of Elephants and a United Eel Theory lamp, among other neat things.
